Celebrating National Reading Day at Our College Library – A Day of Books, Reviews & Community!

 

June 19 is a day close to every reader’s heart – National Reading Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of P.N. Panicker, the father of the library movement in Kerala. At our college library, we marked this special day with a series of vibrant events designed to ignite a love for reading and strengthen our reading community.

📚 Highlights of Our National Reading Day Celebrations

Our celebration on June 19 was packed with meaningful activities, reflecting the spirit of P.N. Panicker’s mission to promote reading culture across Kerala and beyond.

 

 

✍️ Book Review Competitions in Malayalam & English

To encourage students to explore books critically and creatively, we organized Book Review Competitions in both Malayalam and English.

• Students submitted insightful reviews of their favorite books, showcasing impressive analytical skills and genuine passion for literature.

• The competitions received an enthusiastic response, with diverse selections ranging from Malayalam classics to contemporary English novels.

🏆 Prize Distribution Ceremony for Previous Competitions

As part of the event, we also held a prize distribution ceremony, honoring the winners of competitions conducted earlier this academic year.

• Certificates and prizes were awarded, recognizing their talents and motivating more students to participate in future literary activities.

Believing in the power of sharing stories, we launched a Book Donation Campaign on the day.
